The Goddess Collective on Leadership

The Goddess Collective_DaniVox
Last night I had the opportunity to sit in on a meeting hosted by
The Goddess Collective.

They have started a Feminine Leadership Movement asking you to stand in your authentic LEADERSHIP by choosing your inner Leader and educating HER, training HER, and nurturing HER AWAKENING.

Last nights meeting focused on “The 14 Principles of Feminine Leadership” and “Exploring the Principle of Commitment”.

“The 14 Principles of Feminine Leadership”

1. Embodied Presence- Bringing all of one’s Self to the moment.  Holding clarity, focus, and presence while maintaining your “YOUness”.

2. Self-Authority- You are empowered to hold a centered and balanced position of authority within the self.  Knowing you define you and no one else gets to.  You have the right and authority to take action based on your needs, ideas, desires, dreams, and more.

3. Integrity- Be consistent with your actions, behaviors, and communication.  Be accountable for your actions or non-actions.  Know you are responsible for your creations in the world and we all have the ability to respond.  Allow yourself to see the overview of a situation and respond with your intuitive sense of honesty and truth.  Be your word and your word becomes gold.

4. Intuition- Utilizing your instinctual knowing and deep wisdom.
Intuition_DaniVox5. Leadership  with Love- Holding a balanced position of Leadership with compassion and generating a nurturing environment.  Generate a co-created leadership, knowing we are all open to our unique path with the ability to shine.

6. Clear Communication- Being willing and have the skill set necessary to speak lovingly to your needs, desires, boundaries, goals, vision, and business.

7. Individual Uniqueness- You are one of a kind and that is a celebration.  Be willing to radiate your “YOUness”.  Allowing you to celebrate you is accepting the gift you are to all of us.

8. Confidence- A trust filled relationship with yourself, your skill set, and your wisdom.  Allowing yourself to lead from your inner strength.

9. Birth- Allowing the process of Birth to organize and move through you.  When a woman is actually giving physical birth she doesn’t actively pause and focus on creating each aspect of the evolving baby.  There is a natural intelligence that takes over.  She listens to her body though.  Feeds it good nutrition, rests, and exercises.  Similarly when birthing a project take good care of it and then let the natural process do the rest.

10. Commitment- Be willing to commit to your vision and goals.  Allow yourself to be realistic with time lines, implementation, personal strengths, and follow through.

11. Open to Receiving and Being with the Mystery- Embracing the gifts in life.  Knowing good things will come your way and allowing yourself to see and accept them.  You deserve it simply because you are you.
mystery_DaniVox12. Accepting Self and Others- Self acceptance is embracing the beauty and all aspects of you.  You are able to embrace both the dark and light sides of self and humanity while navigating both when needed.  The light, the dark, the continuous integration.

13. Balanced and Nurturing Self Care- Giving yourself permission to take care of yourself on all levels: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual.  Knowing, it is an act of self love.

14. Purify and Release- Be willing to let go.  Change can be empowering.  Having the ability to recognize when it’s time to release what no longer serves you, your creation, or your work.

There is a lot of information to absorb here so I will share more about what I learned in this meeting in my next post about Commitment.

Whatever type of business you are in, I encourage you to meet me at the next Goddess Collective meeting held every last Wednesday of the month at Montclair Women’s Center: 1650 Mountain View Blvd, Oakland CA. 94611.  To stay in touch about their monthly events, sign up at http://www.meetup.com/goddess-collective

The Voice Audition

Hey guys!  Thank you for following up on how my  audition for The Voice went.  I did not make it to the next round however, I am stoked about how my audition went!

As you know, I have been giving everything I possibly could to be as prepared I as I possibly could for the audition.  I gave up alcohol, coffee, and dairy.  I worked out every other day.  I had vocal practice with a voice coach 3 days a week AND I was eating healthy, drinking lots of water and getting plenty of sleep.

I was prepared and felt great!  When it was my turn to sing I jumped up with the biggest smile and full of excitement to perform.  I could tell that the casting director was digging my energy.  I sang 100 Days, 100 Nights and felt amazing afterwards.  When I was done singing I wanted to scream out “HELL YEAH!” because I knew it was that good.

Check out this video of when I sang 100 days, 100 Nights at The Make Out Room last year!

I guess I should have began with the process for the audition.  :o)

There are 2 pre screening casting levels before you have the opportunity to be on The Voice  for the blind audition.  The first is singing A Capella and the second is singing with a track.  You register online and a week before you are scheduled you will receive an email from them with your registration info that you need to print out and bring with you.  See below:
DaniVox_AuditionPassThe VoiceBring this and your ID.  You will not be permitted to audition if you do not bring these items!  My friend Kristina and I road tripped it down to LA and stayed with a friend.  It was quite an adventure from the beginning…I sorta, kinda ran out of gas on my way to pick her up and she had to rescue me!
DaniVox_TheVoiceAudition_7DaniVox_TheVoiceAudition_3Make sure you drink plenty of water to be hydrated and that you are well rested.  We arrived in LA Friday night so that we had Saturday to take it easy.  Our audition was Sunday Feb 3rd at 2pm.  We got there at 1:30pm an there was a super long line.  Dont let this discourage you though.  Once it hit 2pm the lined moved pretty quickly inside the LA Convention Center.
DaniVox_TheVoiceAudition_9Expect to be there 3-4 hours.  We were there for 3.  The process IS really that long.  You enter the building and go through security.  Your audition pass gets scanned and they check your ID.  You are then led to another room where you are assigned a lane.  Your audition paper is scanned again and your ID is checked.  At this point you can put away your ID.
DaniVox_TheVoiceAudition_4You are then told to have your audition paper scanned by another person who then assigns you to another lane.  This will be the group of people you go into the audition with.  Your lane is then led to another larger room where everyone waits to be seen and heard.  Up until this point everything kept moving.  I think we sat in this room for about 30minutes.  Still, not to bad!
DaniVox_TheVoiceAudition_2You could see the rows of people being led to their audition room and everyone would clap for them and wish them luck.  Then it was my groups turn.  There were 10 of us in the group.  (Kristina and I didn’t make it into the same group)  We were led to a smaller room where the casting director sat at a table with her laptop.  She was super sweet and let us know that when she called our name we would need to stand on the X.  She also said that she will be taking notes on everyone by writing and typing on her laptop so we shouldn’t feel discouraged if she wasn’t looking at us.

There were a few people in my group who were good but she didn’t take any of us.  There was a duo (twins) who she said that they are a “maybe” and she would let them know by 7pm that night.

I am still on a high from this experience.  Because of the way I prepared I was confident and felt ready.  I knew I had given everything I possibly could to this audition and I gave a top notch performance.  There was nothing I could have done differently or have done more.  At that point it was left up to the casting director to do her job the best to her capabilities and cast the right people for the show.  It’s because of all this that I feel so amazing!
DaniVox_TheVoiceAudition_5Thank you for reading!  I hope this inspires you to keep reaching for you goals.  In a million years, I never thought I would audition for something like this… to give myself that opportunity.  Im so glad I did.

Much love,

Dani Vox

Catching Up With You

Hi!  It’s been a while.  Lets catch up!

There are times when I go to write a blog and I all of a sudden feel overwhelmed by all the cool stuff I want to talk about, the things I am doing, about to do, or just plain have been thinking about.

I should start by saying THANK YOU for the responses to the newsletter I sent out.  If you did not receive a newsletter please sign up on my website!  You all have been so kind to read and refer me.  I cant wait to start sharing the voice over jobs I am recording.  I just wrapped up a voice over for a handy man company and was recently cast as “Mom” in a music video!

I have also pumped up my workout schedule.  Ya know, gotta keep FIT in this fast world of freelance!  I am also doing quite a few more auditions for print work so toning up may not be such a bad idea.  I am taking a TRX class on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, then strictly cardio Tuesdays and Thursdays. I am also riding my bike to and from gigs to get a little extra cardio in!

Don’t think I just jumped into to that kind of schedule, though!  It was sloooow!  Now, waking up at 5:30am to be at TRX isn’t so bad.  It’s been really fun and I can see my energy levels going up.  I am already seeing my arms and legs start to shape up, too!  Its pretty cool to see this transformation happen.

More soon.
